Hey everyone! If you have ever asked “what can I do to help trans rights,” I have something for you.
Biden’s title IX change protecting trans people in schools is open comment.
It is getting FLOODED by TERF comments.
GO MAKE A COMMENT IN SUPPORT! followed by a link.]
In addition to this I would suggest adding some kind of personal comment so it doesn’t get weeded out for being on a script.

Can anyone come up with a sample script for something helpful to say? I know “my own words” would be best, but I have cognitive difficulties that make this kind of thing hard for me. Text ends then is followed by a reply by twitter user Steph twitter handle SSnorkels. Text reads as follows
“I am in support of trans youth fully participating in sports like their cis classmates! There is no need to monitor, restrict, or ban their participation in activities. They are kids and deserve to have fun in school.” ]
This is INCREDIBLY current. The deadline to submit comments is September 12, 2022. Please also keep in mind that this is a PUBLIC, GOVERNMENT platform. No threats, no sass. This isn’t some “vote blue no matter who” shit, this will play a hand in legislation related to trans youth.
Be diplomatic and tactful, but inexorable with comments. Be as general or personal as you wish–having a variety of accounts works great. If you’re a student, educator, or aspiring educator, definitely say so and give support from that lens.
If you’re not from the United States and wish to provide support, there’s an option to comment anonymously. I would recommend doing this with a VPN that sets your location to the United States, because, again, this is a government website.
Without access to a VPN, speaking up as a member of the international community will hold water, especially if you briefly describe how transgender regulation has affected your country and state that you hope the United States can achieve your country’s own level of acceptance or that they can evolve to a point your own country has not been able to reach at this point in time.
If anyone has any knowledge as to how to appeal to the U.S. Education Department in particular, please add on.
